Brainy Smurf visits Brainy PHRD Teachers... One collaborative group partnership between Vista Virtual teacher, Amber Shelley and RF Staples teacher, Kirsten Brinks created a wonderful Differentiated Instructional Choice board to use with Biology 30 students. Although the two teachers used the piece they created somewhat differently due to their teaching environment they both were excited about the work the students produced and felt they would continue to explore providing choice for their students in this way next year. The choiceboard had various ways for students to demonstrate their understanding of the endocrine system. Both teachers felt the activities were very engaging for students and the quality of work produced by students displayed a deep understanding of key concepts they were trying to impart to students. Thank you Kirsten and Amber for sharing your work with us and with other teachers! Kirsten also allowed us to capture her voice regarding this project work. You both are paving the way for multiple ways for students to express their learning and be actively engaged!! We thank you ... and so do your students:)
