By Cheryl Frose Ever felt like you simply don’t have time to go through 25 journals or read 28 self-assessments or correct 30 worksheets? But you know you SHOULD do those things so that students get the feedback they need to keep moving forward in the learning. You don’t want to simply plow ahead and let the students slowly fall off behind you…
They have made this site very easy to use. Teachers sign up and create classes. Students sign in and join the teacher’s class by using a code, in the same manner as Google Classroom. Teachers can even make up ‘assignments’ and have students complete them without having a class. Watch How to Create Classes with Formative and Assigning Made Easy.
Assignments may be created on the fly by simply typing in a question (MC, T/F, Typed Response, or Show Your Work). Alternatively, you can upload any Word doc, PDF file or image into Formative to use as a basis for the assessment. Essentially, Formative will make an image of each page and then allow you to insert response boxes anywhere on top of that image, where students will type/draw/select their responses. This is a tool with a LOT of potential. How will you use it?
