Engagement Exchange"The most effective kind of education is that a child should play amongst lovely things." Plato Part of our work with AISI this year was to support on going project work with resources from our IMC. In the process of hunting for specific resources, we "bumped into" some outstanding "undiscovered resources". One such "Lovely Thing" was a set of beautifully illustrated graphic poems. Jerry Buchko's R.F. Staples Junior High classes are currently finishing up a project using these resources. After the study of the graphic novel was completed, Jerry provided his students with "Multiple Means of Action and Expression". Students chose a poem or song to illustrate in a graphic poem or in a poster. Jerry was impressed with the level of creativity his students demonstrated! He plans on adding copies of student exemplars to the set of "Graphic Poems". Thanks for sharing Jerry! Some other "Lovely Things"... The best way to find resources is to spend some time in IMC. Sherrill will be there until mid July and will return in mid August. If you are thinking about having a look please contact Sherrill @780.307.0503 to ensure that the IMC is open.
